About PrepWorks

Yorkshire's Laser Cleaning Specialists

Precision Without Compromise. We bring advanced laser cleaning technology to businesses, councils and heritage clients across Yorkshire.

Who We Are

Advanced Laser Cleaning, Right Across Yorkshire

PrepWorks is a specialist laser cleaning company serving Yorkshire. We exist to give businesses, councils, heritage organisations and property owners in Yorkshire access to the most precise, most environmentally responsible surface cleaning technology available.

Traditional methods sandblasting, chemical stripping, pressure washing are either too aggressive, too messy or too damaging for many applications. Laser cleaning solves all of that. We bring the equipment directly to your site, whether that's a war memorial in the Dales, a steelworks in Sheffield or a commercial property in Leeds.

Our tagline says it all: Precision Without Compromise.

We never cut corners. Your surface is treated with the same care as our own.

The Technology

How Laser Cleaning Works

Laser cleaning directs concentrated laser pulses at a contaminated surface. The contaminant absorbs the energy and vaporises through a process called ablation. The substrate beneath reflects or dissipates the energy harmlessly.

By calibrating the laser's wavelength, power and pulse duration, we can target specific contaminants with micron-level precision. Remove rust but not steel. Remove paint but not primer. Remove graffiti but not stonework.

This makes laser cleaning uniquely suitable for heritage work where any damage to the substrate would be irreversible as well as high-precision industrial applications where surface integrity matters.

Laser Ablation
Contaminants vaporise on contact. The substrate stays completely untouched because it reflects the laser energy below the ablation threshold.
Selective Removal
Dial in exactly which layer to remove. Remove paint and not primer. Remove rust and not metal. Precision measured in microns.
Safe & Compliant
All work carried out by trained operators with appropriate PPE and safety protocols. Compliant with BS EN 60825 laser safety regulations.
Environmentally Responsible
No chemicals, no media waste, no contaminated water run-off. Vaporised contaminant is collected by an extraction system and disposed of safely.
